5 Tips For A Successful Hair & Makeup Trial

January 26, 2022

Our bridal beauty experts share 5 tips for a FUN hair & makeup trial!

Here are five helpful tips from our bridal beauty experts to ensure you get the most out of your trial! This is a fabulous time to try new things and perfect your look for your big day!

1. Arrive with a fresh face and clean hair

One of the best tips we can give you when arriving at your hair and makeup trial is to make sure that you have a fresh face and clean hair. This means come with your face washed and moisturized (no makeup, please). Arriving like this gives your artist a blank canvas to work with and won’t take up valuable time during your trial.

2. Bring inspiration pictures

Inspiration pictures give your makeup artist and hairstylist an idea of the look you’re going for. You can check out Pinterest (we have an account), Instagram, or even do a Google search to find ideas. It provides your artists with information about your preferences and the theme/style of your wedding. One important thing to note is to speak up if you don’t like or want to change something about your look. While stylists and artists are professionals and do this every day, they aren’t mind readers, so they won’t know if you don’t like something unless you tell them. They would rather you tell them than say nothing because they want to make sure you LOVE your look on your big day.

3. Trust your stylists

This tip goes for a lot of things in the wedding industry. The professionals you’re working with have been doing this for years; they’ve likely worked with many different brides and have probably seen it all. TRUST THEM! There’s a good chance that they will come up with something you probably haven’t even thought of or seen. We’ve heard brides say time and time again that they never would’ve picked something if it hadn’t been suggested to them by the professional they’re working with.

4. Try different looks

We always tell our brides to be open to trying new styles. This goes along with the point above! Your stylists have booked enough time to allow you to do a couple of different looks so you can make sure you love your hair and makeup on your wedding day. Seriously, what do you have to lose? The time is already booked. Even if you don’t love the look for your big day, you may have found an awesome look for another event.

5. Have fun!

Lastly, remember to have fun! This is a special time for you, and it should be an enjoyable experience. It’s not every day that you get pampered by a team of beauty experts, and we want to make sure that you’re 100% happy with your look for your big day. So, sit back, relax and let our team take care of you!
