5 Useful Things to Have on Your Wedding Day

January 26, 2022

Did you know that 80% of brides say they have some regrets about their wedding day?! This includes how much money they spent, what the money was spent on or even just not properly organizing their day. So, we’ve rounded up what we think are 5 wedding must-haves that many brides regret not having. Make sure you save this post if you’re engaged, so you remember to include these things.

1.Custom Apparel

Custom apparel can serve as a wedding day memento that you can wear long after your big day is over. It’s a great way to remember all of those special memories, and makes for some really fun photos. One of the best parts of including something like this in your big day, is that the money you spend on it won’t go to waste because you can wear it over and over. Depending on what you select, you may even be able to wear it as you get ready with your bridal party. When selecting custom apparel remember that something that’s embroidered is going to last you longer than vinyl that is heat pressed so just keep this in mind when selecting your items. Depending on what you want, you could even make a day out of it and get your girls together to make something.

Some ideas include:

  • Custom jean jacket with your new last name
  • Sweaters or t-shirts with a phrase like Wifey and your wedding date
  • Custom socks with your new last name
  • Personalized housecoat or pyjamas

2. Comfortable Wedding Shoes

Raise your hand if you’ve ever worn a cute pair of shoes only to regret the decision by the end of the night because your feet feel like they are about to fall off? This is the last thing you want to feel the day of your wedding. If you want to get those super cute shoes but aren’t sure if your feet will last all day/all night in them, then bring a second pair that you can change into if your feet start to get sore. Alternatively, just pick a pair that will be comfortable to begin with because chances are most people won’t even see your shoes or feet. Remember that you will probably be on your feet and running around all day, so it’s best to be comfortable over stylish (do we sound like your mother?). When choosing a pair of shoes, there’s no reason you can’t wear something cute, stylish and comfortable.

3. Wedding Day Essentials Kit

This is something that is so easily overlooked, it’s usually the last thing any bride is thinking about because they have 5 million other things on their brain…but it’s essential. Imagine, it’s your wedding day and there’s 5 minuets before you're about to walk down the aisle. Someone accidently steps on your dress and BAM it rips. These are moments that brides have nightmares about, but if you plan for situations like this, there will be less to worry about in the long run because you will be prepared. This kit can include everything from sewing kits, to mints, hairspray, safety pins and so much more! You can even buy ones that are pre-made in store, so there’s one less thing for you to think about. Here are a few things we suggest considering:

  • Sewing kit (this can come in handy for all sorts of emergencies)
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Band-aids
  • Tissue
  • Clear nail polish
  • Stain remover

4. Have A Photography List

Not having a photography list can make it very disappointing when you receive your wedding photos back. Here’s the thing, photographers are not mind readers. The last thing the both of you want is to look at your photos and realize that the one special photo you wanted is not there because it wasn’t taken. THIS IS HEARTBREAKING . While yes, photographers work with brides all the time, each situation and person is different. A photo that might be important to you, may not be important to someone else. This happens more often then you think… To avoid this whole situation make a point to create a list of all the special photos that you want. You can talk to your photographer, family, friends and even do some research to make sure that you’ve covered all of your bases. Don’t overlook this job, this is one of those tasks that can be done LONG before your wedding, especially if you have a long engagement.

5. A Quiet Moment Together

The last must have is a quiet moment with your new partner. Listen, you will blink and your wedding day will fly by. Often times, couples get so busy and caught up in the hustle and bustle of the wedding that they don’t even have time to breathe, let alone to get away for a few minutes. But when you look back on your big day, you’ll realize that the time you spent together was special. To make sure that both of you don’t forget about this, tell one of your vendors like a wedding planner if you have one or a trusted family member/friend. That way you’ll be forced to do this. You won’t regret it, we promise.
